Says, “I am the lizard queen!”
A while ago, I designed a new website for a French bakery. They wanted about five different sketches for the home page. We went with one that depicted the bakery’s storefront, a sidewalk scene, with a limited pale yellow and golden brown color palette. I thought this rejected sketch of the counter would look nice with a full-color treatment. N.B.: The background is the same paper I used for my wedding invitations!
Next time we shall return to your regularly scheduled black outlines, but today I double-challenged myself with watercolors and painting from a photograph (my boyfriend, I think he’s part orangutan). It felt good to use watercolor on its own, instead of mixed with a dozen other things like I’m used to. I think it loosened me up (but not enough to do this).
I don’t get too many fashion design ideas, but the Breakfast Bikini has been kicking around in my head for some time, and I think I might make a real one (from fabric!)
Also, there are certain shapes I love to the point of fetishism, and the fried sunnyside-up egg is one of them. Unfortunately I ran out of my supply of collage-cut-outs from cooking magazines, so I had to draw them this time.
Sausage Swim Trunks for men are coming soon.
Strangest link yet: This picture is already under “Top Bacon News.” The wonder of metatags… http://bacon.alltop.com/
UPDATE: Here is a vector version, done with Inkscape:
I don’t have a lot to say about this drawing except OWW, that HURTS!
Also, I am quite the insomniac these days.
And, I miss posting to IF and looking at everyone’s work these last few weeks, because I’ve been redoing my main portfolio website. It looks more like this one now. Checkitouuut!
