I get inspired a lot by mythology and religion (two sides of the same coin). This is a rough sketch/mock-up for a collage based on the ancient Egyptian legend of Osiris, who was dismembered and scattered about by the jealous god Seth… except when I started this I was thinking of Horus, Osiris’ son, who is usually depicted with the head of a falcon, which came out looking more like a fiery phoenix. Despite my initial ignorance, it still belongs to the theme of resurrection that I was thinking of…
